Black Powder Revolver Match 2008

This was the first of a brand new series of Black Powder revolver matches and the Dennis Scotney Shield was at stake this time as 8 very keen Pistoleros battled it out for first place over 4 challenging stages.

   deliberate fire (6 x shots to zone A)
120 secs
15 yds
   deliberate fire (6 x shots any zone
90 secs
10 yds
   deliberate fire - (6 x shots weak hand)
60 secs
7 yds
   rapid fire (6 x shots any zone)
15 secs


The final result was a very close run thing with just 6 points separating the top 4 shooters – incredibly close! Importantly, lots of valuable lessons were learned by those entering for the very first time.

But congratulations to Dick for taking first place and receiving the Dennis Scotney Shield to keep for a year. We plan to do more with our BP Revolvers over 2008, especially when the Turning Targets come on-stream during the summer at Barnwell. So if you fancy trying your hand at something other than just plinking, why not come along and have a go!
